Well, this one has a strong romance backdrop but its all in all a Sci-Fi

Heroic Age - plot is kinda long so I'm gonna direct you to good ol' wiki for the rest of the tale. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heroic_Age_%28anime%29

A great mix of romance, sci-fi, mech fights, one-sided lives, and that guy everyone just wished dies, but somehow dosnt, xD (dont forget the naive clueless main character, ^^)

It almost reminds me of Gundam or Gundam seed; but the plot is good.

Shocked as a matter of fact the plot kind of remind me of eureka 7, or maybe its just cause im thinking about it right now? i dont know really! 12
